Unexpected Surprise August 31st, 2008 by Kylene. Filed in Engagement Love.

I thought we were going to have a relatively lazy weekend, but then my good friend Carol called and said she was in Tallahassee! Carol and I have been friends since college, and she’s been with the same wonderful guy since I’ve known her – George. George and Carol got engaged shortly after my wedding in February, so when she said he was going to be with her we quickly decided on an impromptu engagement session. Carol requested the railroad tracks, which happen to be super close to my house.
It was so great to get to photograph my friends and visit for a few days. Ryan and I just drove to Savannah for two nights at a historic inn (a wedding gift from his brother that we’re finally cashing in!) so I worked on their pictures on the car ride over. Enjoy guys, can’t wait for your wedding!

My surprise favorite of the day….I love the way they’re interacting with each other. They finally forgot I was there:
**Stay tuned for some really exciting news coming from Forever Photography later this week!**
AWW… Carol and George
I love the pics… my favorites are the ones on the dock. They look so in LOVE! MISS YOU. Great Job!
oooh don’t I get to know the surprise/exciting news early?!?!
How was Savannah? (PS- i’m STILL jealous you got to go…
)
These are awesome, Kylene! It was great to see you last week. Keep in touch…
Sweet! Great to hear you are still cashing in wedding gifts…. mine is finally on the way! Better late then never! I am such a bad friend… I just hope you don’t hold it against me. Hope to see you again soon.
Cute pics!
We can’t thank you enough for this Fabulous experience and to Ryan for the great idea hope you guys had a great time in GA and visiting your mama can’t wait to hang out again =)
These are so fabulous! They seem to have such a great chemistry, and it really does feel like you totally papparazzi’d them when they didn’t know you were there.

I have this slight obsession with perfume. I probably own 5 different kinds, but after awhile I usually get tired of them and move on to something else (which explains the 4 half used bottles in my medicine cabinet!) Around Christmas time last year I got a magazine with a perfume sample, and I carried that thing around with me until it stopped smelling good. Then I finally broke down and bought this tiny $60 bottle of Nina Ricci perfume:

It smells ridiculously good. I think it actually has some pine scent in it, so it kind of reminds me of Christmas which is very nostalgic! I also love the way the bottle looks.
That’s the thing about fragrance - it has an amazing ability to transport you to a different place because it reminds you of a memory, a place, or a person.
For her birthday Rylie got some American Girl perfume. I figured it would smell like plastic blueberries which is what most of her girly stuff smells like. But she squirted it on and every time I got a whiff of it I was in heaven! So tell me…is it wrong that I sneak into her bathroom to use her perfume now? It’s probably cheaper than any of the stuff I have! I couldn’t pinpoint what it was that smelled so good, so I read the back label: rich vanilla, sweet lily, and creamy CARAMEL! Oh my goodness…that’s why I love it, I’m a huge fan of caramel! (Mariah Carey’s perfume has notes of marshmallow!)

Because of a perfume’s way to bring back certain memories, it’s a good idea to buy something new for your wedding day! Something special that will take you straight back to your wedding day when you said your vows. How special would that be? Vera Wang has a couple of wedding day fragrances available, but you could also design your own! Check out Fragrance for You to get started – they have great favor bags and personalization so you could even give them as bridal party gifts or wedding favors!
I found a good article on how to choose the right wedding day perfume for you, read HERE.
Well aren’t you just special. What a cute idea. I think that is hilarious that you steal Riley’s perfume…. well maybe not that funny. I snuck in your bathroom all the time while I was there and stole your pink perfume! haha
When my 12 yr old cousin was here, she kept spraying this wonderful smelling perfume…it was the American Girl. I LOVE it!!

We had plans to go to Atlanta over the weekend, and despite the ridiculous rain from Tropical Storm Fay, Rylie and I headed up there yesterday morning! It poured most of the way there, but we got in town just in time to pick Ryan up from the airport! (he spent the last week in London on business, fun!) The reason for our trip was to take Rylie to the new American Girl store for her birthday. If you have a young daughter you’ll know what American Girl is, I even had one when I was her age! We also went to the Georgia Aquarium this morning, one of the coolest places EVER! I loooove marine life so it’s like paradise for me. I took my camera gear in and had fun taking pics of Rylie all morning.
Thought I’d share some of my favs!
Here we are arriving at the store – Rylie with her dolls (the dark haired one is my “Samantha” doll that I figure to be about 15 years old!), and sitting in the Bistro where we had dinner. The food was actually pretty amazing!
The coolest part about the store is the hair salon! After much love and play Rylie’s dolls had some crazy hair, so they got to sit down and get some special treatment!

There was a carousel in the mall upstairs, so of course we hit that up too! Rylie managed to pick one of the only animals that didn’t actually move up and down….
I’m so glad I lugged my camera gear around! The one on the right is probably my favorite. Through the glass you can see one of their 4 whale sharks! You can actually pay to scuba dive with them….that just got put on my priority list!
You can’t come to Atlanta without stopping by the famous Varsity restaurant! Some good greasy fun….yummy!
Hi Rylie! Looks like you had an amazing weekend! The stingray is my favorite picture! Wish I could have been with you all! Love, BeBe
Holy cow that stingray picture is amazing!! BTW- American Girl dolls look so different from when I had them. I had Samantha and Felicity.
love yoouuu!!
I was a samantha girl, too. So bizarre to see them in jeans.. and getting their hair done. What will they think of next??? Awesome aquarium shots. You know you would’ve been kicking yourself for months if you had left your gear at home. Too cool.
I am always in Atlanta and I have never heard of Varsity. I must go!
Rylie is beautiful and obviously much loved. Looks like she had a great time.
The aquarium shot with her pointing is so rocking. You gotta enter that one in a contest!
Fun in Atlanta….. your pictures are looking their very best these day. You’ve learned so much and come so far. Keep up the awesome job.
I love the way you documented the day. Rylie looked like she had a day to remember. As someone mentioned she is so loved! The aquarium images are the bomb. And who doesn’t love some yummy greasy food. Every time I dine at a small no name place I think of you. Miss ya!
Thanks so much for all the love…..hope to catch up someday soon.
Great pictures and it looks like your hard drive was worth it. I know Rylie had a ball. I also wish I could have been there. The Varsity onion rings look so good. Love you guys.
WOW! Amazing pics.. DUH! Looks like Rylie had a great time! I know I wouldve! I had Kirsten and Addy(the black girl). I still have them and all their clothes, furniture and accessories.. That stuff is soooo expensive but my mom made sure I got whatever I wanted from those catalogues and it is really really fun stuff!- tell Rylie she is just the cutest thing ever!
oh WOW! I used to LOVE AG! I had all of the books but I never got the dolls or anything – they were just so expensive, but I remember flipping through the catalogues &the AG magazines and then pretending with my own dolls after seeing all of the cool stuff! Wow, that really takes me back now!
My niece is going to be 7 in December and I’ve already indoctrinated her into Hello Kitty — now I definitely know what is next on the list!
Wow, those pictures are beautiful & amazing…I only wish I could take pictures like that! Makes me want to be a kid again – too cool.
Cheers!
-Jaime
